About this page

The answers above are kept short on purpose and reflect the official site as checked on 11 September 2026. Where the official site is unclear (it publishes two different weekday closing times, for example) we say so rather than pick one silently. Longer explanations are on the linked pages: tickets and prices, opening hours, how to get there, with kids, the exhibits and Istanbul's aquariums compared.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the official Istanbul Aquarium website?+

No. Aquarium Florya is an independent visitor guide. The official operator site is istanbulakvaryum.com and its sales line is 444 97 44. We check our facts against it and date every page.

How much does Istanbul Aquarium cost?+

Official online prices are 1,000 ₺ adult and 900 ₺ reduced, as promotional rates for Turkish citizens; infants under 24 months are free. International visitors pay the standard rate at the gate or book in euros on this site from €35.

What are the opening hours?+

10:00 to 19:00 Monday to Friday and 10:00 to 20:00 at weekends according to the official visiting-hours page. The official footer says 20:00 daily; confirm late weekday visits by phone.

How do I get there from Sultanahmet?+

Marmaray from Sirkeci towards Halkalı to Florya Akvaryum station, about 35 to 40 minutes, then a short walk. Or a shuttle bundle from the tickets page.

How long does it take?+

Two to three hours for the 1.2 km route; add time for the Ocean Giants exhibition, the VR ride or a feeding session.

Can I re-enter after leaving?+

No. The route is one-way and ends in the gift shop and the mall; once you exit you cannot go back in on the same ticket.

Are strollers and wheelchairs okay?+

Yes. The whole route is step-free with ramps and lifts.

Can I take photos?+

Yes, without flash. Tripods and commercial shoots need permission.

Is there food inside?+

A café partway along the route; full restaurants and a food court in the Aqua Florya mall at the exit.

Is there parking?+

Yes, a large paid car park shared with the mall, around 1,200 spaces.

Do I need to book in advance?+

Not strictly, but a pre-booked mobile ticket skips the desk queue, which reaches 20 to 30 minutes on weekends and school holidays, and avoids the citizenship-rate confusion at the desk.

What is the difference between Istanbul Aquarium and Sea Life or Emaar?+

Istanbul Aquarium in Florya is the largest, with a rainforest hall and penguins. Emaar Aquarium is on the Asian side inside a mall and opens until 22:00. Sea Life is at Forum Istanbul mall in Bayrampaşa. See the comparison page.

Is it suitable in summer heat or winter rain?+

Both. It is fully indoor and climate-controlled, which is why it is one of Istanbul's standard bad-weather plans, and therefore busy on wet weekends.

Are there feeding shows?+

Yes, the aquarium runs feeding sessions and a photography service, with times posted at the entrance on the day rather than online.

Can I buy tickets at the door?+

Yes, by card or cash in lira. Bring passports if anyone wants a reduced rate.
